"May It Be" is the title of a song by Irish singer Enya. It was initially released as a single in 2002 together with "Isobella" and "The First of Autumn" as accompanying tracks on her single "May It Be". It debuted at number one in Germany, but failed to make the Top 40 in the United Kingdom. It is known for featuring J.R.R. Tolkien's Quenya Elvish lyrics within the song. There are two versions of this song with one having a track length of 4:16 and an edited version with a track-length of 3:30. The full-length track appears on the soundtrack "The Lord of the Rings:The Fellowship of the Ring" while the edited version appears on her single "May It Be".

Okay, the Acadamy Award & Golden Globe Award voters didn't agree with me, but who are you going to believe: those guys, or me?
Yes, I do believe that "May It Be" will be listened to long after the other nominees are forgotten, but do bear in mind that I am highly biased for all of Enya's work. For many, it may take several listens to completely appreciate. It has a certain mysticism to it, much as you would expect from a song composed for the LORD OF THE RINGS film.
However, I don't think "May It Be", brilliant as it is, matches "Isobella" in beauty, healing quality, and enchantment. Both "Isobella" and "The First of Autumn" have been unavailable in the U.S. although both were on the Japanese pressing of "A Day Without Rain".
"The First of Autumn" is the most energetic song of the three, and close to equalling the first two. While I do appreciate the thoughts of another reviewer who felt quite swept up in the sequence of the three, I personally feel the disc would've been better balanced with "The First of Autumn" between the more mystical and reflective songs, but that is hardly a criticism.
This is definitely a must have disc for all who love Enya's music. It's Enya at her very best.

The Lord of the Rings:The Fellowship of the Ring is a 2001 fantasy adventure film directed by Peter Jackson based on the first volume of J. R. R.Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings trilogy (1954-55).Set in Middle-earth,the story tells of the Dark Lord Sauron, who is seeking the One Ring. The Ring has found its way to the young hobbit Frodo Baggins(Elijah Wood). The fate of Middle-earth hangs in the balance as Frodo and eight companions form the Fellowship of the Ring, and begin their journey to Mount Doom in the land of Mordor:the only place where the Ring can be destroyed.

Released on December 19,2001,the film was highly acclaimed by critics and fans alike, especially as many of the latter judged it to be the most sufficiently faithful adaption of the original story out of Jackson's film trilogy. It was a major box office success, earning over $870 million worldwide, and the second highest grossing film of 2001 in the U.S.and worldwide (behind Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone)which made it the 5th highest grossing film ever at the time.Today it is the eighteenth highest-grossing worldwide film of all time.It won four Academy Awards and five BAFTAs,including Best Film and Best Director BAFTA awards. The Special Extended DVD Edition was released on November 12,2002 and is now discontinued. In 2007,The Fellowship of the Ring was voted number 50 on the American Film Institute's list of 100 greatest American films. The AFI also voted it the second greatest fantasy film of all time during their AFI's 10 Top 10 special.

Funny, scary and, totally involving, Peter Jackson's assured adaptation of JRR Tolkien's The Lord of The Rings turns the book's least screen-worthy volume into a gripping and powerful adventure movie.
For the first hour, "The Fellowship of the Ring" is a flawless introduction to the world of Middle-earth, expertly outlining the backstory and evoking a tangible sense of danger as Frodo the hobbit (Wood) sets out on his quest to destroy the all-powerful one ring - sought-after weapon of the Dark Lord Sauron. With the wizard Gandalf (McKellen) as his guide - and a protective fellowship drawn from various Middle-earth races - Frodo must do battle with orcs and other beasties, as well as fend off danger from within, as the ring works its evil charm on him and those around him.
The film's problem comes in cramming so much story into even three hours, and from the moment Liv Tyler's elf princess pops up, the pacing seems slightly off - skipping from one breathless chase scene to the next. Also, while the scenes with the rank, fearsome orcs are superbly realised, Jackson finds representing the spirit of good much more difficult - soft-focus photography and bright light are his unsatisfactory ploys. This is all the more disappointing when compared to the other groundbreaking effects work on display.
The casting, however, could not have been better. Wood is perfect as Frodo, the vulnerable, slightly weedy central figure whose resolve will no doubt grow with the films, while Billy Boyd and Sean Astin nearly steal the picture as the accident prone comic relief. Nearly, but not quite. That is left to Viggo Mortensen as mysterious warrior Aragorn.
Brooding, intense, and handy with a blade, Mortensen is the film's greatest strength - Han Solo to Wood's Luke Skywalker. The "Star Wars" comparison is an apt one, for if the next installment, "The Two Towers", can build on this hugely impressive franchise starter, George Lucas better look to his laurels.
