Lost Generation

The "Lost Generation" is a term used to characterize a general feeling
of disillusionment of American  literary notables who lived in Europe,
most notably Paris, after the First World War. Figures identified with
 the "Lost Generation" included authors and artists such as Ernest Hem
ingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Ezra Pound, Sherwood Anderson, Waldo Peir
ce, John Dos Passos, John Steinbeck, Erich Maria Remarque and Cole Porter.

侨居巴黎的美国作家格·斯泰因对海明威说：“你们都是迷惘的一代。”海明威把这
句话作为他第一部长篇小说《太阳照常升起》的题词，“迷惘的一代”从此成为这批
虽无纲领和组织但有相同的创作倾向的作家的称谓。
