Two Wrongs Don't Make A Right

"Two wrongs don't make a right" means that it is never right to wrong someone, even if they have wronged you first. Their "wrong" plus your "wrong" together would not make a "right." Example: "That boy pushed me yesterday and I am going to get him back today!" Answer: "No you are not! Two wrongs do not make a right." Sometimes, when you have been wronged, you want to wrong that person back to make things "right"; but "two wrongs don't make a right" says that it is always "wrong" to answer one "wrong" with another "wrong." Example: "I don't want anyone on our team getting in a fight on the field today, even if the other person has fouled you first. Two wrongs do not make a right."
