Back Off

( move back to give more space; not be so agressive ... )

To back off is to move back to give one space. Example: "I guess I made her angry. She told me to back off and leave her alone."

If we get too close to person, or try to talk about something which is too private, he may tell us to back off. Example: "I told you I don't want to talk about it. Back off!" (agressive)
