Biting The Bullet

( paciently waiting when you do not want to wait ... )

You "bite the bullet" when you are forced to be pacient and wait when you do not want to wait. Example: "Hurry mom, I really have to go to the bathroom." Reply: "We won't be there for another 20 minutes. Bite the bullet."

You "bite the bullet" when you withstand pain or discomfort knowing that it will get better in the future. Example: "Fourty students in one class is too many." Reply: "Until we get more teachers, we have to bite the bullet."

Biting the bullet describes the uncomfortable feeling of having to wait when you feel you cannot wait.
