Breaking New Ground

( doing what has not been done before ... )

Doing something which has not been done before is "breaking new ground". Example: "Noone in our family has ever married a foreigner. You are breaking new ground."

When you are the first to do it, you are breaking new ground. Example: "Noone has ever sold a product like that here. You will be breaking new ground."

To break new ground is to do something new or in a place where it has never been done before. Example: "They are such a great technology company, always breaking new ground."
