Calling Your Bluff

( you guess that person is not telling the truth ... )

When you gamble that the other person won't do what he says he will do, you are calling his bluff. Example: "They say they will fire me if I skip work today, but I am calling their bluff."

When you call a person's bluff in a game of cards, you bet against him because think that he is lying. Example: "I'll bet one hundred dollars." Reply: "I don't think you don't have four kings, so I am calling your bluff."

When you tell that person you think he is lying, you are"calling his bluff". Example: "I demanded that they give me more money, but they are calling my bluff." Another example: "We don't think you are going to do it. We are calling your bluff."
