The Carpenters

卡彭特乐队（The Carpenters）是美国歌星理查德·卡彭特和卡伦·卡彭特兄妹二人组成的演唱组合，1970年代和1980年代初期风靡一时。在华语地区他们演唱的《Yesterday Once More》（昨日重现）、《Top of the World》（世界之颠）、《Please Mr. Postman》（请等一下，邮差先生）等歌曲广为人知。

The Carpenters

卡彭特兄妹于1965年开始组织乐队，初期音乐风格为爵士乐，卡伦·卡彭特任鼓手，但是未能获得成功。1967年，他们又和两位朋友组成了一支乐队，但是仍然没有突破。不久，卡彭特兄妹决定单飞，理查德任键盘手、卡伦任鼓手，两人均进行演唱。他们翻唱的披头士的《Ticket to Ride》小获成功。
1969年11月15日，卡彭特乐队的单曲《Close to You》（靠近你）一举走红，其后，他们在整个1970年代大获成功。
1983年2月4日，卡伦·卡彭特因长期严重神经性厌食症而突然去世，卡彭特乐队随之告终。其后，理查德虽然也出过几张专辑，但再也没有达到原有的成就。
