尊敬的扎尔达里总统阁下，
尊敬的参议院主席奈克阁下，
尊敬的参联会主席韦恩上将阁下，
尊敬的海军参谋长巴希尔上将阁下，
尊敬的前总理、穆盟（领袖派）主席舒贾特阁下，
尊敬的各位部长、省督、首席部长阁下，

各位来宾，
女士们，先生们！

今晚，我们大家在中国使馆相聚，共庆中巴建交60周年。总统阁下莅临，我们倍感荣幸。各位贵客到来，我们格外高兴。今晚，让我们一起追溯历史，发扬传统，增进友谊！
It is our great honor tonight to have His Hon. President to be with us. It is our great pleasure to have all the distinguished guests today at the Chinese embassy jointly celebrating the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our two great countries. Tonight is ours. It is a night of decades of friendship, a reflector of our glorious cooperation, and an accelerator for our ever-stronger brotherhood.

中巴两国山水相连，两国人民比邻而居。两大文明的交流源远流长，两国人民的情谊与日俱增。建交60年来，双边关系平稳快速发展，上升势头强劲，任凭国际地区风云变幻，始终坚如磐石、历久弥新！
China and Pakistan are joined by mountains, rivers and a common border. Bonds between the peoples and civilizations are deeper with each passing day. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the China-Pakistan friendship has been on an upward curve. There have been frequent "highs", but no "lows"; lots of "peaks", but no "troughs". It has stood the test of time and remains firm and constant despite twists and turns on the international and regional arena. And it will develop from strength to strength as both peoples care and support.

女士们，先生们，
Hon. Ladies and gentlemen,

今天的中国和巴基斯坦，战略伙伴关系日益牢固，经济互惠合作日益强劲，人文学习交流日益密切！这份特殊而珍贵的友谊源于彼此尊重和理解，深植于两国人民的心中。我们气义相投、休戚与共。我们是真正的好兄弟、好朋友、好邻居、好伙伴！这座使馆就是一个活生生的例子。在座年纪稍大一些的朋友都知道，这座使馆是巴基斯坦兄弟们为我们建造的，象征着两国之间的深厚友谊。
Today's China-Paksitan friendship has transformed into a strong strategic partnership, robust economic cooperation and ever closer people to people connections. This legendary relationship is based on mutual trust and understanding and resonates in the hearts of the peoples. We feel each other's pain and take proud of each other's achievements. And we respect each other's core interests and speak aloud for each other when one is unduly treated. In a nutshell, we are good neighbors, close friends, trusted partners and dear brothers. The building of this embassy itself says for it. I believe some senior guests may recall the fond memories when our Pakistani friends built it for us in the odd years. It is a live symbol of our evergreen friendship.

中巴友谊来之不易。这归功于两国领导人的远见卓识，得益于两国人民的辛勤培育。我愿借此机会向他们致以最真诚的感谢和最崇高的敬意。
The friendship, however, does not come easy. We owe it to the vision of the leadership and the hard work of the two peoples. Let me take this opportunity to express sincere thanks and pay high tribute to you and all the friends who have long been committed to the China-Pakistan friendship.

Hon. Ladies and gentlemen,

今年是中巴建交60周年。我们站在新的历史起点上，面临提升双边关系新的契机。我们需要增进战略互信、加深互利合作、促进人文交流、加强在国际地区事务上的协作，共同应对挑战，促进世界和谐和可持续发展。
This year marks the 60th anniversary of the China-Pakistan relationship. We are at a new starting point, facing new opportunities to take our relations forward. We should increase strategic mutual trust, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, promote people-to-people and cultural exchanges, enhance our coordination and cooperation in regional and international affairs, and make joint efforts to meet challenges and promote harmonious and sustainable development of the region.

当前，国际地区形势经历深刻复杂变化，中巴友好与合作也面临新的机遇和挑战。我们需要巩固传统友谊，坚持与时俱进、开拓创新，不断为中巴友谊注入新的生机与活力，丰富中巴全天候战略伙伴关系的内涵。为此，我们应拓展、深化各领域务实合作，加强彼此利益融合。中方将在实现自身发展的同时，积极参与巴经济建设和社会发展，帮助巴实现自立、自主、自强，使中巴友谊惠及更多民众。
The regional and international situation at present is undergoing profound and complex changes, presenting new challenges and opportunities for our friendly cooperation. We should further consolidate our traditional friendship, keep pace with the times in blazing new trails, and inject new vigor and vitality into China-Pakistan relations so as to create new dimensions for our all-weather strategic partnership of cooperation. To this end, we should further deepen and expand pragmatic cooperation in all fields and diversify common interests. China, while developing its own economy, will continue to play an active part in Pakistan's economic and social development towards a better future, translating our friendship into tangible benefits for more Pakistan people.

女士们，先生们！
Hon. Ladies and gentlemen,

作为中国驻巴基斯坦第15任大使，我每天日以继夜地工作。但是，我深深地感到，与扎尔达里总统先生对中巴关系倾注的心血相比，我的这份辛苦不算什么。我在他身上学到了很多东西。
As the 15th Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, I worked around the clock for the bilateral relations. However, my dedication pales in comparison with the zeal and zest His Hon. President Zardari shows in his insightful essays and frequent China visits. I've learned a lot from him.

几天前，我重温了总统先生写于2009年的一篇题为《中巴关系高于喜马拉雅山》的文章。其中有一句话特别引起我的共鸣。这句话是这样说的，“巴中不仅仅是利益之交”。对此，我双手赞成。中国有一句古话，意思很相似，“博弈之交不终日,饮食之交不终月,势力之交不终年,惟道义之交,可以终身”。意思是说，只有建立在道德和正义基础之上的友谊才是可以持久的。我们60年的交往历史正是这句话的生动写照。
A few days ago, I revisited His Hon.'s article entitled "Sino-Pakistan Relations Higher than Himalayas" published on a Chinese newspaper in 2009. One sentence turned me on. It said that "the Pakistan-China relationship is much more than a strategic influence of interests between two countries". I cannot agree more. As an old Chinese saying goes, "Friendship between chess playmates cannot outlast the day; friendship between winers and diners cannot outlast the month; friendship based on power and influence cannot outlast the year. Only friendship by virtue of morality and justice can last a lifetime." This means that only friendship on strength of morality and justice is reliable and can last long. Our 60 years of friendship testifies to this saying and will not only last our own lifetime but forever.

女士们，先生们！

毛泽东主席曾经说过，“天地转，光阴迫，一万年太久，只争朝夕。”让我们抓住机遇，携手向前，推动中巴友谊与日俱增，推动中巴合作再结硕果，为开创两国战略合作伙伴关系更加美好的未来而不懈努力！
Chairman Mao once said, "The world rolls on. Time presses. Ten thousand years are too long. Seize the day, seize the hour!" Let's seize the opportunity and forge ahead in promoting this friendship into a new high. Let' work together to shape a better future for our strategic partnership of cooperation.

祝扎尔达里总统和在座各位朋友身体健康！
祝巴基斯坦繁荣富强，人民幸福安康！
祝中巴友谊万古长青！
May Hon. President and all the friends present enjoy good health!
