Carried Away

( one is so excited that one does too much ... )

A person who fell into a quick moving river may be "carried away" to another place by the water, just like a person who is so excited that she coninues doing something when she is "carried away". Example: "You cleaned everything. Even the dog." Reply: "Yes. I got kind of carried away." Another example: "You've been drawing for three hours." Reply: "Yes. I got carried away."

Like a person who has fallen into a flowing river which "carries that person away", a person's enthusiasm carries her to do more when one gets carried away. Example: "Okay, everyone. It is okay to cheer for your team, but don't get carried away. We still need to be polite."

You forgot to stop and did a lot of that thing when you got carried away.
