“笑”词的用法

smile最常用于微笑，指笑时不发出声音，通常表示高兴、愉快，有时也表示轻视、讥讽等。例如：

He smiled at the doctor.他朝医生微笑。

It's rare to see him smile.很少见他有笑脸。

She smiled at his threats.她对他的威胁一笑置之。

grin指咧嘴（露齿）地笑，笑时嘴张得比smile大，表示兴趣、轻蔑、满足等。例如：

The boy grinned when I gave him an ice cream.我给他冰淇淋时，这孩子张嘴笑了。

He grinned from ear to ear at the good news.他听到好消息时，嘴咧得大大的笑了起来。

beam原意是发光发热，用作比喻时，表示因高兴而微笑。例如：

sneer嘲笑、冷笑，表示蔑视。例如：
