Both my mother's parents have passed away. My father went even before them because of cancer, but his parents carry on living. They are sound and healthy, as my grandma insists and my grandpa seems to be. But everybody sees they are getting older. They are with no joy having passed the great eightieth birthday one after the other.

My grandpa often blames his wife that she “eats, drinks and can’t do things”. I am not sure, but one day I bought four small bottles of high-class yogurt for my grandma and urged her to eat one bottle each day. That was to be done in four days, but I almost lost my temper to see a month later that there were three bottles and a half left. They all had been expired.

My grandpa’s heart has not been functioning perfectly. He takes a specific called Danshen Dripping Pills every time feeling uncomfortable in his heart. But how can one say “My heart aches!” by knowing it’s really emotional or cardiac? He has a pet phrase, “I haven't stopped from beginning the day.” Sometimes he asks me and my mother to dine in his home. He makes great effort to cook luxurious dishes. That must be as his pet phrase.

Recently my grandparents have moved to a new house, which is so much further away that I can’t simply walk there like before. I feel the missing made by distance. Grandpa keeps saying that grandma mentions me all the time. Sometimes I feel it a little dull for her to do so, or grandpa pretends to say that.
