Nothing in history has exceeded reading in the aspect of being noble. Those who make fortunes are held in awe, but only those reading extensively are revered. In either entertainment or cultivation of humans, reading has the irreplaceable function to bring up the sentiments and wisdom. Any of the faculties for an art is eclipsed by the viewing system when a man reads.
The nobility of reading is like a fashion that has long been preserved and thrived. To explore the reason, I am not an expert, but I do feel abashed when I take as much leisurely life yet without books, because the relaxation there is no good than standing still so that the misgivings of falling behind is haunting me.
Nowadays competition of the number of books one reads, which seems to be the volume of his knowledge, has been popular and fierce, and I believe this is a fallacious trend. The nobility of reading consists in how much you have been better accomplished, in place of the quantity of text that has gone through your surface.
