I finished GONE GIRL a novel by Gillian Flynn today. In fact, this book was bought long long ago. When I picked it up, I realized it was not the type I liked. Having read several pages, I just gave it up.

When I picked it again, I was really lost in it and couldn’t stop reading until the ending.

Amy is a really cool and beautiful girl who marries to a handsome man named Nick. After Nick’s mom was ill, Amy and her husband had to move to Nick’s hometown. Even though Amy was unwilling to leave New York City, she decided to follow her husband to go there. However, their relationship was becoming worse than before. Amy wanted to live a romantic life but Nick failed to satisfy her, especially when Nick was laid off. Nick was desperate and couldn’t deal with the present. What he did was to drink with his wife’s credit card, while Amy didn’t go to work, either. They just depended on Amy’s parents. When Amy felt like leading a normal life and wanted to have a baby with Nick. However, Nick didn't want that.

One day, Amy found that Nick was cheating on her. Then in her mind, she made a plan to punish her husband. At first, she pretended to keep a dairy for seven years and then disappeared in her home and everyone including police, believed that she was killed by someone. As the police looked into the case, they found out the diary and became to suspect if Nick was the one who killed her wife. Some evidences showed that Nick was the killer. As times went by, Nick realized that he was framed by her wife and her wife planned all to make her in prison. In order to make her wife come back, Nick took advantage of the media to express how repentant and guilty he was, hoping that Amy came back to live with her. If Amy came back, he would cherish and love her deeply. He would do what she wanted.

At another place, Amy did watch Nick say those on TV. If she didn’t come back, Nick would be in prison. To come back, she killed her friend who was her ex-boyfriend. When she came back, Nick was happy and scared. Until now, he knew what real Amy is like. Amy’s coming back could prove that Nick was innocent. The most interesting thing was that Amy told everything to Nick but Nick couldn’t provide some evidence that Amy was a killer.

Nick didn’t want to live with that woman, but Amy hoped to try again. If Nick didn’t agree to do that, she could make Nick in trouble again. Nick really rebuked what Amy did by writing a story. Amy found that and ordered him to delete the story. At this moment, Nick gave in once more if he couldn’t, Amy would kill the baby in her belly. When Nick didn't believe it, Amy told him that she kept his semen in a hospital freezer somewhere.   

No matter what Nick wanted to do, he couldn’t flee from his wife. Amy is in charge of everything. In the end, Nick failed to leave and divorce but lived with Amy.

That is the story of their marriage. Actually the story I can’t express in detail is really worth reading again and again. In other words, I have to admire the writer. Oh, she is a genius.
