Travel To Never Land

663 views. 2010-11-8 20:56

My spaceship lands on a big swimming pool on the Never land after a 4-day’s trip. What’s in the Berry’s book is totally nonsense, for this island is actually a highly civilized society ruled by octopuses with eighteen legs and denies any possible connection with the animal back on earth.

I meet my tour guide Ali at the port, also an octopus with eighteen legs. The only vehicle here is all kinds of boats, for it is covered by water and no earth on it. But some turtles can be used as taxis. The island has plenty of banyans with their brown thin roots sprawling into the streams; the flourishing crowns provide green fresh shadows for passengers. The buildings I can see are made of seaweeds, and each of them has an open umbrella standing by, which being used to absorb solar energy. We arrive at my hotel, a double-poled boat giving out emerald light and it is floating on the water like the others with a shinning name “Sunshine” on the sail. I check in and get a normal-sized hammock and a luggage shelter both made of seaweeds and canes. When my fingers touch them, they feel sticky and cold; I imagine I would sleep on glue. But when I lay on it, it just like a woolen blanket which gives out nice smell and I am wrapped in warmth, then I take a nap.

According to my observation in the afternoon, the island possesses a central park which being used to grow seaweeds and seafood such as crystal-liked oyster and shrimps. The oysters can produce sparkling pearls every 20 minutes, which make the pearls the main decoration of the island. The city hall is stored in an enormous oyster and every “desk” and “chair” is pasted on the surface of the oyster. The citizens are in different colors, purple, pink, yellow, etc. I ask Ali why and he says they like to dye themselves. The most amusing thing I experience here is eating. The waiters in the restaurants are all octopus who can take eighteen orders once, so each café would only need one or two waiters. I order the local delicacy call the “Big Boy”, it looks like an ice roll and as big as a meat loaf. It is bound by something like threads. I take a first bite and feel some cheese and bread melt in my mouth, also some black tea, I believe. The second bite I feel some broth float in and it must be roast beef and potatoes! Magic goes on, I have pancakes and blueberry, the last flavor I enjoy is chips and shrimps. Out from the café, night falls. The umbrellas start to give out milky yellow light and the water begins to shine and I can hear soft croon far away, sang by octopus orchestra. It is time to go, I bid farewell to my tour guide and he use some device to delete my itinerary both on my cruise’s computer and in my mind in order to avoid the revelation of their never land. Back to earth, I always have dreams about blue and green.
