Arrangement before spring festival

Hot 1592 views. 2016-2-2 21:06 | everything, electronic, appliances, afternoon, computers

An email sent to the staff this afternoon that told everyone should take care on the way home in spring festival, and meanwhile arrange everything well, including checking plugs of computers and other electronic appliances, and keeping precious personal belongings.

Though I still need to spend three days in the office, I have made the plan as well during the holiday. It is simple. There is no exciting news on the holiday, during which I only spend time doing what I still have to do. Every time, particularly on holidays, such as National Day, and Spring Festival, I’d rather spending time home to stay with parents, meanwhile make a cup of tea to read and deal with some other files. Boring? No, at least, I assume it a good opportunity to seize which I should never waste.

So, the peaceful life then makes me say no to see spring festival gala. Fortunately, my parents are not interested to it in recently years. They are aging and feeling not that energetic to watch such a four-hour live ended in mid-night, and also thinking those shows are becoming more tedious and cliche. I am quite affirmative to that point. And that liberates me from time wasting. I can focus on doing what I want. Actually I have not watch the gala for many years.

In old times, I was the same as other kids very expecting to holidays. As time goes by, now the moment for me is to spend time with people mostly I love. There could be many others ways to enjoy holidays. As long as it is deserved to be entitled as its meaningful being of existence, that would be definitely the style that everyone should cherish and own.

I can sense that peaceful homely feeling when you accompany your parents during the Spring Festival holidays. I recall the days when I used to spend the long holidays with my parents at home, sitting around the fireplace enjoying fine tea and biscuits in typical British style. My father is a former government official and often had interesting stories to tell. My mother loves to listen to BBC English drama on radio which became one of my favorite pastime too. You are fortunate to have your parents living with you. Nothing is more real and trustworthy than your own parents. Unfortunately, my mother is no longer here, but the spirit lives on. To those who have parents around them, cherish and treat them well to avoid regrets later.

It is good that you do not have to join the madnenning crowd going homeward bound for family reunions. Hundreds of thousands of people were stranded at Guangzhou railway station due to train delays caused by cold weather in the north. Imagine those people standing and waiting cold and hungry for more than 24 hours board the train, not knowing when the trains would be available.

My friends seem to be interested in traveling. Some have followed the trend by joining group tours to Korea and Japan. Some even repeated those trips every year. I myself can't understand where is the attraction of those countires. I have already visited the major countries of the world and have seen most of the places I like to visit different and remote places instead of the canned tourist destinations. Travel is actually quite exhausting and expensive, so it is not a bad idea to save some money and enjoy with people near us.

Have a good time wherever you are.

Things changed. People now are having more alternative options than just by staying home. Usually they will come to somewhere else to visit with the whole family or with some good friends.

Now, especially, recent years, I do  not choose to go somewhere else, I stay with parents and accompany them. Right, I am fortunate to have them. And I realize it is so important to with them as long as I am free. Therefore, I do not miss the chance being with them. I'd rather liking talking to them and enjoying yummy dinner together. I also try to help to cook, though mom never thinks my cook is good, but I still insist doing that for them. I tell them there should not be adding much more ingredients, and little slat, which is a good way to keep heath. They finally get to accept the advice.

I do think what a happiness it is that I can stay with them and do not need to catch a train going back home. The news said the station at Guangzhou has more than 50,000 people stranded there. I hopefully they can go back home smoothly after a long wait in that cold days. Spring festival is the time to be beloved and best family members.

Hope you are well too. Happy Chinese new year.

Honestly, I envy you having your parents beside you and can enjoy the Spring Festival together. I wish I can enjoy that too but my mother has passed away due to the disease of kidney failure. When she was here, she used to make tasty New Year snacks like Chinese Soft Brown pudding, fried radish cakes, fried dumplings plus a mixed plate of candies. Relatives would come for visits and it is such a warm feeling. Now, I stay by myself alone and can only reminiscent those days when mom was here. Nowadays, very few people come for visit. Neighbors knowing I live alone invite me to their homes to eat those snacks and I can recall their family feel, but it is not too good to trouble them too much, so I go once only. Cherish the good times with your parents and wish them the best of health and fortune during the Lunar New Year.

I can sense your feeling.

When I was a kid I thought how good it was that if everything could stay where it was. I did not need to worry that I had to shoulder responsibilities and that parents would not grow old. How nice.

Now I see them aging, yes, including me, myself, also feel that I am getting aged, though I am still young, while I am at the age to shoulder the family. They rarely talk of marriage to me, and think it won't be a burden on me. They just want me to lead the style I like. Therefore I do appreciate their patience, though I can sense their longing for a girl that one day I can bring her back home.

Home is the best. And I feel the importance of being with them as long as I am free. Even if I say nothing by reading books would be also ok, as long as I am there, they feel comfortable. I'd like to talk to them and get understood their stories and those things they experienced before. I even made a joke and said to them that one day I might try to write a book on the base of their stories and experience they met and heard of.

The reality is something we can not change, but we can choose to keep and remain something. Have them grabbed in hands and then store them in mind to memorize them when we are old. This is really a nice treasure that nobody else can steal from us.
