I heard the word doomsday first mentioned in the movie 2012. I was shocked by what I saw, but I didn't take it seriously. After all, it was nothing but a movie! It is absurd that a person should buy whatever a movie says. However, with wars and natural disasters occurring frequently, more and more people are talking about doomsday. A programme about prophecies of doomsday I watched on Dicovery Channel made me feel even uneasier. The Bible, the Book of Changes, the Mayan calendar etc. all predict that the world will end someday in 2112. Mayan Calendar even specifies that day as 21rt December. The nuclear disaster  triggered by a powerful tsunami and causeing great suffering to Japan even further reiforced my belief that doomsday will come sooner or later. Even if it doesn't bring an end to everything, it will certainly change our life.
