People all around the world hold the different opinion about the key point of the way to success, as could be divided into two major facets, on one hand, a great part of them claim that it is the capacity and diligence that they finally attain the glorious success, on the other hand, another imperative aspect which couldn’t be overlooked is fortune, notwithstanding it’s not something we can control. In my viewpoint, maybe it’s the time for us to vary the angle to have a close look at the definition of success, that is, what’s success?

In the first place, it’s widely acknowledged that different people hold completely discrepancy cognitive about success, and as the standpoint of the majority part of people, successful person is who approached the summit of his or her career or occupation, as the status has been treated as the most common standard to compare one with the other where the one who can make more money and reach a higher level of position represents that he or she is more valuable than others in the society and has more capacity to make contribution to the world progress, in this sense, there is no denying that the achievement in career should be regarded as one of the most imperative and indispensable index to measure the success of each person in the society.

However, others exclaim that the importance and magnificence of family and friends also cannot be overlooked, since as is acknowledged throughout the world that a happy family and enclosed with intimate and affable friends is almost the definition and representation of happiness, in other words, the reason why people struggle and strive so much in order to gain more concern from others or professionally accomplish works to scramble higher social position could be simply attributed to the desire of a happy family and more friends as to live in a more carefree environment, although some maybe retort that they work conscientiously in order to suffice themselves rather than their families, and thereby, the problem is that people who didn’t win a high social position and prestige but possess good family and friends could be considered as successful or not.

In my standpoint, family and friends are much more necessary than somewhat so-called prestige, reputation and position since a great family just resemble a warm and readily harbor in which you can release yourself freely and escape from the hustle and bustle of the urban life.
