Day 2: Fishing, snorkeling and BBQ

If the first day in Sanya was about relaxing, the second was definite exciting.

The little boat sailed off into the blue, and so it began with our little adventure in Queen Bay. The surface of water glinted in the sunlight, and the breeze ruffled everyone’s hair.  I stared into the deep blueness in the distant, enchanted by the novelty of sailing on the sea.

Finally our boat stopped, we started to fish. As a fishing virgin, I was extremely lucky. I caught two fools in a run! It is said that Fools would took any bite even without bait, still it was huge. I was so excited! Xiao Chao, our guide teased to suggest that I should stop or there would be no fishes to catch. Ha, ha, perhaps God heard what he had said, and decided to take away my luck, for the rest of time, I got nothing. My husband fished all the morning without a bite. But at the last minute, he caught a Nemo! Surely it was too adorable to be our lunch, so we decided to let it go.  Poor little thing was so scared.

Bye, little one, be safe and stay away from us.

At lunch, we had the most marvelous BBQ we never had on the boat. Even the famous Intime BBQ could not compare this, because it was totally different to enjoy a hearty

barbecue in the arms of the sea—more funs, more freshness.

At the afternoon, we went snorkeling in the queen bay. Its miles of almost deserted coral reefs make for excellent snorkeling. When I opened my eyes under the water, when I first laid my eyes on this exotic and wonderful world under the sea, I almost forgot everything. This experience was really beyond words. Those corals were like siren’s arms, waving to me gracefully. I was enchanted, captiveated, and held totally still. Xiao Chao pushed me towards those corals, so I could take a close look and I even reached my hands to touch them---they are very soft. I was so excited that I asked Xiaochao to take me to the deeper place. Xiaochao told me that with my life jacket on, he was unable bring me any closer. Without a second thought, I took my life jacket off. Now thinking about that, I wonder where my courage had come from. I can’t swim. Without life jacket, I was completely helpless in the water. But Xiaochao was so trustworthy, and the world under the sea was so desirable and peaceful that I felt perfectly safe here----I must have been bewitched! There could not be any other explanation, right? Perhaps it was just one of those moments when life calls for a certain risks and you have no options but to answer it, or you would regret to the bones afterwards.
