The point is people is taking advantage of others because of their shortcomings or just laugh at others for their own satisfaction. Don't try to mix up humor with hurtful gossip, it is  two different things. I for myself fully enjoy jokes and fun making but once it comes to gossiping, I feel there is a motive and I will ignore them.

Good defense. Just hope that you will not be the target of damaging gossip. You must have heard that if you have not been pricked by a needle, you won't know the intense pain. All you are trying to do is to right something that is fundamentally wrong. Most self respecting people are sick and tired of all the annoying gossiping going on in our schools and workplace causing friction among people and misery to those who are affected by these endless gossiping. The argument that it  does spice up the atmosphere and create talk topics  is no justification for gossip. Guys are normally not easily affected by such gossip due to the present social circumstances. I pity those girls, especially the younger ones, who are often needless affected by cruel and senseless gossip. Why not use the time and energy on something constructive?
