A backpacking solo to Tibet——Can you?

Hot 31147 views. 2013-6-3 16:54 | solo

One of my college classmates told me that she had decided to resign her job and have a backpacking solo to Tibet. I was not shocked at all, instead, I felt she was serious and she really would take it into practice. As I know her, she is a person of boldness, a true actor. Last spring, she told me online via QQ that she would like to go to Lijiang in Yunnan province. I didn’t take it seriously until I saw the pictures she uploaded in her QQ space. She really went there and alone.

Several months ago, she invited me to go to HK with her. I hadn’t had such a plan in my short-term schedule. What’s more, I didn’t have the Hong Kong and Macau Pass which is requested to be issued by the applicant’s registered permanent residence. I refused her. Not for long, her pictures taken in Disneyland Park in HK appeared in her QQ space, and there were a lot of comments below her picture files. The only one reply given by her was “Never leave much regrets in your life”!

When we were in college, she was, unknown, without attracting much attention in the public, an extremely ordinary girl. But now, with her own actions, she accomplished one after another dream we had looked forward to countlessly in the dormitory. I have nothing to say but to admire her. When can we break loose from the life burdens and embrace our dreams?

I admire her for her adventurous spirit, especially as a girl. It is that easy to travel to those remote places alone. A lot of preparations are organizing is required. Now she has done that, she is better than most of us because she has the determination and will. Nice to note that she visited Hong Kong. I would have invited her for breakfast or lunch at a typical Hong Kong cafe. Anyway, I congratulate her and hope she would have a happy life.

Yeah, you are right. Most people have to start work at 9am and continue working till 8 or 9 pm then go home for dinner. There is no overtime pay. You are given tasks and you are expected to finish it no matter how much time it takes. People accept this type of suppression because most of them have expensive mortgages to pay and even if you change to another job, you still have to work long hours. Come to HK and take a look when you have the time.
