So yesterday I consumed a lot of 'exotic' food. Unfortunately, my stomach is not designed for such food; so, today I've been rather nauseous, though I'd say it was worth it to eat snail phö and BBQ tarantula bwahaha... Surprisingly, the spider wasn't juicy- it was really dry! It took like a whole minute to chew it enough to swallow. Anyway, point of that was- I've done very little since getting back to the orphanage today because I feel mehhh.
Last week, however, we went on more tuktuk rides through the countryside as we visited some of the families whose children live at the orphanage. It was very interesting, because I had always assumed orphanages held only Bruce Wayne type children who have no remaining relatives. In actuality, the orphanage is more like a giant foster home where children from broken families can come. Some of the children's parents pay, some cannot afford to. Kit and Reem Carson, the directors, allow for the situation to dictate. The orphanage's website is : http://www.agreaterhopeorphanage.org if you're interested. Anyway, we went to some of the sponsored children's homes to meet and pray with the families. Many are very poor, and the orphanage brought care packages with basic amenities for them.
