The school policy forbids students to bring any equipment with smart technology but this is not a reasonable rule that the students should follow. I believe that we students should be able to bring smart equipment. First of all, students need proper and suitable entertainment. Just like any other, we can sometimes be in a mood to play a game or watch a movie. We could be tired after a day’s study and sports, and we don’t have a thing that can log on to internet. We cannot read the news, chat online or even checking e-mails. Basically we are isolated with the ‘outside world’ from Monday to Friday. Secondly, by giving us the freedom of having high technology devices in school, it can really train us to take responsibility for ourselves and learn about how to organize our time. As a middle school student, we have teachers at schools and parents at home to supervise us. However, if we don’t have self-discipline, it’s hard for us to be successful and some of us might even get into trouble in the future. So if we can have a chance to arrange our own time and take responsibility for ourselves in minor things now, it will be easier for us to do the more important things right in the future. Finally, if the school is really concerned about a part of us abusing the Internet, the school has the right to turn off the Wi-Fi in student dorms after a fixed time, for example, 11:00 p.m.  Just recently, the school has changed the Wi-Fi password and maintained secretive to us students. I wanted to say, that simply changing the password is not going to solve the problem completely. Since in such a high technology society, there is more than just one way------ using the school Wi-Fi to get access to the Internet. So the best solution is to allow students to have smart technology devices on campus. From the above reasons, I strongly suggest that the school should allow smart technology devices. Some things are just hard to control; forcing people to do something will not have good results. On the contrary, requesting others not to do something usually don’t have strong effects. I really hope that the school can have a thorough consideration about this issue.
