Life is much alike due to its daily rutine, life varies because of the experiences we undergo.
I had never expected I could pay a visit to this most beautiful city in China during my lifetime, however, this is a solider-life, I call it fate.
Our troops knocked the door of Guilin in the afternoon of May 10th after 4 days creeping in a “green-box” train. 4 days steamer-life made me pay no attention to outside views. But 4 days transferring of time and space did brought about a new sense of existence: I had never been to a city featuring the unique charm and flavor of vista like this before —— Clean rivers, exuberant plants decorated the city in a riot of green in such a vivid season. It was just like paradise, no exaggeration.
But sharing the paradise wasn’t the main purpose, we needed to get many things done during the same timeframe, and I was soberly aware of the gravity and significance of our task. This time, we were scheduled to stay here for a month, nevertheless, a month was enough to chew up Guilin’s beauty and uniqueness. So this was just the first of many to come.
No exact orders existed regarding our allowable regions although principles stipulated that we should put our task on top priority. This mood supplied me opportunities to enjoy the “earth-paradise” at a maximum extent. So, we were organized to Lijiang River on June 10th after mission accomplished. Lijiang, danced to the rhythm of “Guilin landscape tops the world” by full capacity, was a dream-world which was sustaining the fundamental natural element as demonstrated by its fascinating scenery. These immersed me in the illusion of standing in the heaven where motherland’s magnificence and beautiful girls popping into my eyes.
But for me, a Diaos who prefer talented girls, would rather preserve vitality for embracing the nature.
The hills, straight and decent, standed sentinel over the city, just like loyal soliders. The river, clean and transparent, just like a versatile girl, splashed a riffle in my heart. Deeply magnetized by the brilliant landscape, I was eager to grasp the moment as eternity.
But eternity is illusionary, none of these belonged to me, even neither did myself.
I’m not a saint, not an individual of integrity, just a Diaos maybe, I don’t have the right to possess the city, however, this city, Guilin, this landscape, offered me a spiritual enjoyment of the pure, beautiful nature. And Guilin was bound to be the most precious memory that can’t be bereaved for the rest of my life.
Thank you, Guilin. Thank you, my life.
