Hot 7853 views. 2013-8-14 10:05 | something, problem, English, english, example

I have a problem. It is about English. I wonder how can i speak english fluently with other people. I wonder what are you thinking when you talking about english with others. The words you will use? The grammar? The topic? Or something? My problem is i can not do it. For example, in the spoken english competition, after i read something there will be a foreigner teacher is going to sak me some questions about what i read. The problem is coming, i can understand the meaning what the teacher said, and i know the answer, but at that time i do not know how to answer it, i do not know what i should say in first, which part in the sentence i should say. Then make me embrrassed time is coming, the teacher is looking at me waiting my answer, i am standing there can not say a word...

So i want to sak you for help, how can i be easy when i am talking with someone. I read some magazine and what i have learnt from it is if i want to improve my spoken english, first i should resite some beautifui passage and then to imitate the standard voice, again and again. Oh, it is hard for me. How do you think it, is there any advice can help me? This problem has troubled me for a long time.

Don't think too much, just speak it out. Don't care about what mistakes you will make.

You can write your blog of such a good level, so there is no problem for you to express yourself clearly. Practice your oral English much more, it will turned out that you are capable.

Seems you are just nervous and distracted, nothing else wrong.
Actually, to have the courage to speak English without fear requires practice. Just practice more and you would speak freely without inhibitions. Your teacher should have encouraged you with a few words to let you start, but he didn't.

You seem to be quite good in writing, so your spoken English should be fluent too. All you need to do now is practice more and soon you would be able to speak normally.

In my opinion , Don't be shy at first , when you accept the question  they raised , just take it easy , and say what you are thinking about . It is not necessary to make it so comprehensive , but it's enough that your content is related to something . You can give it a definition ,  give an example to him , or say some feeling when you accept this question , little by little , you will find you feel ease to do that , and you will enjoy this process .

I think spoken English is a little different from the written one  , not only because the structure and  terms they use are a little different, but also because in written English, you get much more time to think over  , to organize a sentence , yet  in a conversation , you have to organize a sensible sentence in seconds , reacting to what you have just been asked, so it seems a little tricky.

Besides, the organ by which   you use to do the job is different. While in spoken English, you have to make use of your lips and tongue, in written English , it is your hand; so, people who can write good English are not necessarily appearing to us as  a good English speaker.

I think   in a  circumstance where verbal reaction is needed , you better get some sentences you are well familiar  with  ,those embedded  deep in your mind  that  can be spoken out without any hesitation, in response to whatever you are asked...

I haven't gotten on DioEnglish for a long time. I was happily surprised to see that you are still writing. That shows that your motivation for learning comes from within and not because a teacher is making you write.

I've actually been considering the same question recently, too, though from a little different angle. How can someone move from one level of spoken language to the next level? And how can they do that in an environment lacking in speaking opportunities?
