About salary increment.

I got notice this morning, i will get salary increment from this month, it's effective July 1, 2013. Oh yeah, it's good news.
However, the level of increment is not my expectation. I think i deserve more, but maybe my leader didn't agree with me. I have no idea. Why the leader give me low level of increment? Did i make something wrong? Did i make her angry...
What can i do? Just accept it, or talk with my leader, or else?
In fact, I should be happy because i got salary increment. But i am not so happy indeed because i got increment in low level. How can i adjust my attitude?

- Congratulation for your salary increase. That increase is an award for your working abilities, otherwise, they would not award you this increment. However, if the increase is too little and does sufficiently reflect your work effort, you have every right to voice your feelings.
Do not confront your superiors directly as this would certainly affect the relationship and in the end, you would only suffer. Find some indirect way to let her know your thoughts and try to understand how she determined the increment. First you have to thank her for the increase and show your appreciation, then go into the topic diplomatically. She would get your thoughts and hopefully do something about it. In the end, you still have to thank her for the increment. What you decide to do after that is your own evaluation. Good luck.
