Now we should prepare all materials to make the samples. It should be well done before their coming. I don’t think it’s difficult for a large company.

For me, I have fear about it. In other words, I fear about English, even though I love it. Usually, I just need read or reply in English, or do English and Chinese translation in paper works, or other things more about Chinese. Maybe I used to it. I am not good at changing. But if the USA designer team comes here, i would company with my director to join the meeting in all days. Although I don’t lead the role, I am afraid of that I will not catch up with what they require, maybe I will miss something important about measurement & construction and details for new samples.

I remember the latest time, I really couldn’t catch up with them at some time, and sometimes I need guess the meaning by what I knew before. Sometimes my director gave me a tip. I can fully understand what my director said in English, although she spoke fast and fluently. Maybe because she is Chinese and maybe her oral English is with Chinese accent. But when the American was talking, I focused my all attention and tension on the conversation, I still felt hard, and it let me felt nervous. Maybe the more nervous I was, the more I missed. My director told me that “don’t be nervous, they are also common people, just because English is their mother language, normally, they speak well. Just like that we speak Chinese well. In fact, we can speak not only in Chinese including Cantonese and Mandarin, but also in English. They can say English only. So we should be confident with ourselves.” It’s totally right for her. But I am not as good as her. Her oral English is perfect and has no problem to make a conversation at any time. She looks like she could read my mind and my doubt, she said “You are much younger than me, you have opportunity to improve yourself. But firstly, you need work hard before you get improvement.” Thanks for her kind words. I know confidence is very important, and more important is that you need something worthy of the name to enhance the confidence.

Now I am still not confident to speak with USA designer team, but I didn’t give up.
