Annual leave.

My annual leave was approved by my boss today. So I will
have a long-time vacation from this weekend. (Total 9 days included weekends
and Dragon Boat Day.) How delighted I am
now. But I don’t have a good plan for my vacation, I just want to go back to hometown
to accompany with my daughter. Now I am thinking where I should bring her to
have fun, instead of staying at home all the time. But the weather is too hot
now, and sometimes it comes with downpour suddenly, it’s not a good season to
have outdoor activities. Although we can’t control the weather, I should not be
affected by the changing weather. If it’s too hot, I could bring my daughter
outside at early morning before 10am, and after sunset. If it’s rainy, I could
stay with her at home and play games with her, and cook something delicious for
her, I think she will be happy as long as I am by the side of her.
I have not seen her for more than one month, I miss her so much. I let myself immerse in the job, and transfer my mind for learning or reading at leisure. But I still feel so sorry about that especially when my colleagues ask me “why did you leave your baby at hometown so cruel-hearted?” Maybe any explanation is just excuse, I have no better choice, maybe every family has a hard time to read, but people who didn’t experienced could not understand completely. No matter what, I still feel so sorry about it. But I have no ability to change it at this moment. What I can do is to spend more time with her as long as I have holiday. And I persuade myself like that maybe it’s not a bad thing for her to adapt to different environment and different people…

- You really need this long holiday. You must be missing your little baby so much that you that you would rush towards her and carrying her in your arms. It is indeed hard for a mother to be separated from the baby, but sometimes, life is like that. You have to work to provide her with milk, nutrition, care and future needs. You should arrange a short trip nearby. Use this chance to let the baby see other children, people and different places. Don't let the weather dissuade you because there are benefits. The rest of the time, you can play with her in the comfort of your home and give her a lasting memory of you.
I think your colleagues are playing with your conscience to say you are cruel to leave your baby at hometown. Which mother doesn't want to stay with her own baby? Can't they be compassionate instead of making you feel guilty? Don't let those words affect you. Your baby is fine in the care of your parents at hometown. There are lots of people in the same situation as you and your baby would grow up to be a smart child.

- it's lucky to have an annual holiday, we don't have in my company, many times, life did not go in our way, since you have this opportunity to go back to your hometown, just be by the side of your kid, she feel happy because of you not the place you go.
