One fifth of the rise of sea level in almost ten years should owe to the melting water of Greenland glacier. If all the ice covers melt, the sea level will rise by seven meters. The striking number means that even though a tip of the ice covers melts, the result is what we cannot bear. The ice cover of the ocean in North Pole is in the process of melting. In August this year, the melting gradually for several decades made unprecedented low amount of ice cover. Actually, the ocean ice cover has decreased half since 1980s. The ice in summer can still cover seven million square meters, comparing to 4 million square meters now.

Up to now, the size of ice cover has been the smallest in 1500 years.

Global warming which is caused by human activity is a main reason for it, and the decreasing of the ice cover also has profound impact on environment、regional politics and economic development.

First, the melting water from glacier of Greenland will flow to the sea which leading to a rise of global sea level. Along with the increasing temperature, the sea level rise one centimeter every ten years in the early 20th century to 3 centimeters now. From 1990 to now, the sea level has risen 20 centimeters so far. Although it seems insignificant, but it could make the shore around the world easier to get influenced by flood.

The melting ices of the ocean in the North Pole make a fierce striving for available energy, especially fossil fuel, which is a major reason for global warming.

While against global warming, it is possible to provide people with affordable energy in terms of economy and technology.

The interest group pleaded no guilty for global warming, the more they resist, the more difficult for us to save the impact by human.
