Tonight we went to American Consulate General Public Affairs Center and discussed women’s issues. Maybe there are tons of woman’s issues we can mention, but think about what is equality? Seems that is a ethic question, the definition maight depend on different people's view. Do we
think the same is equality? Male and female are create different, not just the
physical, the biological, but the behaviour, the style of thinking… They are
different, because they are different human being can continue forever, so what
is equality? The difference is equality. We don’t always think what things men
can do but women not? What things can benefit men but women not? We need to
think what things men cannot do but women can? What things cannot benefit men
but can benefit women? The key is not the people how to treat us but how do I treat
myself.

Focusing on all these issues, might have
different reasons, but the main reason is from misunderstanding and untrustworthy.
Things always can make us angry, lots of things we don’t have the ability to
deal with, we are struggling in the juggling city and lots of kind of issues
surround us. We couldn’t change the world little, but we can change ourselves,
we can change our attitude to the life. Let me back to the question, what is
equality for women, the question it’s not affected by society, by men, but by
women and yourselves. Let me adopt a Buddhism view all the things are affected
by yourselves. Let me tell you a story, once upon a time, The Sixth, Huineng
went to a temple to attend a convention. The flags had waved. At that time one
monk said the flags were waving, another monk said, not were the flags waved by
themselves, but the wind waved them. The Sixth said it was not the flags
waving, it was not the wind waving, but your mind moved. That seems difficult
to understand, but thinking about that if the two monks had focused on the
convention, they wouldn’t have found the flags were waving, so they had been
affected by the external environment, their mind didn’t keep in calm and peace.
The flags were never waved but your mind made them waved. Then back to you, Are
you struggling in such as that situation? Can you keep your mind in calm and
peace, isolating the external environment and affects. Please ask your inner
mind what’s your real needs. It’s your choice, it’s your attitude to the life.

Mentioning you are in a rose garden, you
are meeting two girls, one says it’s perfect because there are flowers on the
thorns, another one says it’s so horrible because the flowers are surrounded by
thorns. What is your impression? Just need to change your view, all things will
be changed. Figuring out that situation, a woman quit her job because of pregnant,
it’s a discrimination, right? You will feel unequal, you might want to make a
lawsuit to your company, but how about think of that situation in another way, you
have a beautiful baby, you might have a chance to study English to achieve your
dream, or you can recharge your batteries. After that you will get a job that
better than you’ve ever had. Everything can develop toward a good way, just
need to change your attitude. Remember the key is no matter how the people
treated you but how you treated yourself. It’s your life, your real life, you
determine that.

To summarise, there
were not a solution about women’s issues, but my opinion for all us how to deal
with them. All men should be gentlemen and all women should be more confidence.
Then men and women work harmoniously, men take care of women, women admire men.
It’s a good way to build a good relationship.
