Today’ morning was quite exciting because of a brilliant and wonderful debate competition by our six colleagues. The topic for this debate is very famous, “Marriage is the grave of love”, which is also the topic of the International Friendly College Debate in 2005. It is a well-know hot topic and I think most people are keen on this topic. Though everyone has his or her own opinion on it, however, among us, especially the young people, dominant people tend to agree that “Marriage is not the grave of love”, at least for me.

It is unavoidable that some couples depart from each other, some marriage breaking down finally, love between them going to the end due to various complex reasons. We can’t take a part for the whole, since these are the minority. Most couples live happily and harmoniously till their death except for small quarries. There are too many lovely beautiful and moving love stories proving it, so among common people there are. From my point of view, if the marriage is the grave of love, then why more and more lovers, from the ancient to today, walk down the aisle in other people’s wishes? Are they walking to the tomb? Do they want their love to the end? Absolutely not! When two persons fall in love deeply, the man will finally ask the woman

“Will you marry me?” or the woman will ask the man

“Will you marry me?”

“Yes, I do”.

I think that’s the most beautiful words in the world.
