Today I got up late at 7:40. To my wife’s demands, I began fixing the problems with the modem and the router, the facilities we used to log on to the Internet. I tried many ways, but they didn’t work. Finally I had to phone the ISP，they instructed me to turn off the modem and the router and turn them on 5 minutes later. I did as they told me. It did work.
I surfed the Net and listened to the online radio on www.dioenglish.com.
At 4:40 in the afternoon, I began to take a walk in the street. I walked down the People’s West Road, up the Square Road and Xinhua Road, the sidewalks had been dug out in order to install new anti-slippery and permeable bricks, so in some sections, it’s hard to walk. There were many people in the street, because it’s Sunday today. I walked into two stores. One is Gome, the other is Xindaxing Cyber Store. I like to have a look at the electronic appliances in these stores.
At the traffic lights in front of the district government, I couldn’t help thinking that the city is improving, but the people here need time to catch up, because I heard a driver shout at another driver: Fuck you, you fool!

- Sundays offer us a chance to relax and do whatever we like. we can work more efficiently if we are refreshed at the weekend.

- Well, exactly the same thing happens here in my town. They also advised us to turn the modem off and on again to reset it. It often works. If it doesn't work, then some workers must have damaged the street cable.
The brown bricks are being laid in most of the world's city streets because it is easy for amenity companies to easily dig up pavements, lay their cables and replace the bricks on the surface again. There so many types of cables to lay... internet, broadband, cable TV, telephones, electricity etc etc and it was difficult to do that with concrete pavements we have before. It is a massive task to lay those bricks and I have to give credit to them for undertaking the task.
I also love to listen to online radio, but I listen to stations from far far away like Iceland, Falkland Islands, Ascension Islands, West Africa and South America etc. The different way of talking and music is interesting.
Even in a super modern city like Hong Kong, we still have stupid people.
I have seen a man insulting an handicapped youth by saying that he must have done something wrong in his last life to be like that.
However, we are seeing more civilized people with good manners.
