Observant and Thoughtful 洞察与深思
There has been an acquaintance of mine on the Internet, who once commented on one of my blogs with the opinion that what he read should be written by an "observant and thoughtful person". Such a comment, as an evaluation of my writing ability, can never be more desirable and satisfactory — it even made me feel like a talent being identified. And also, it had me inspired; for I had never realised the significance of the two words, "observant" and "thoughtful", until they encountered me like revealing themselves. I have, all be it, no competence to illustrate what advantages there would be if a writer is equipped with his characteristics of that two adjectives; but I feel keenly in practice, namely in reading and writing, that if in his article one by observation can do little in introducing a unique perspective, and from this perspective one can not penetrate by thought in depth, this article will be regretfully regarded as its writer's failure; since, on the surface, this writer has not had enough writing ability to display anything profound, while in essence such ability is exactly that of being observant and thoughtful, which has always existed far beyond writing itself.
我在网上有个认识的人，曾给我的一篇博客评论，并给出观点说他所读到的这些应该是一个“有洞察力与深刻思考的人”所写。如此一个评论，作为对我的写作能力的评赏，简直不能更合我所欲与让我满足——它甚至使我感觉自己就像一个有天分的人被鉴定出来了一样。而且，它也启发了我；因为我从来没有意识到过这两个词——“洞察力”与“深刻思考”——的重要性，直到它们遇见我，就好像它们显露了自己一样。尽管我还没有能力来解释如果一个作家有了那两个词作为他的特征会给他带来怎样的优势；但我感到，在实践中，即在读与写中，如果一个人在他的文章里因观察力不足而很少做到引出一个独特的视角，而从这个视角他不能以深刻思考来有贯穿力地写作，那么这篇文章就会遗憾地被认为是它作者的失败；因为，在表面上，这个作者没有能够具有足够的写作功底来显现任何意义深刻的东西，而在实质上，这个功底正是洞察力与深刻思考的能力，其远不止存在于写作本身。
