No love for fame is not human nature. Those who are appealing to make light of it are just being brave from a safe distance. Everyone covets fame, yet few know that instead of a fortune cherished within oneself alone, the essence of fame is a socially appraised qualification. So fame can not be achieved in a detatched attitude, with which one will be excluded from the society of all judges and audience. Even if by any chance this man achieves his fame as a byproduct, his detatchment will get lost as soon as he sets to enjoy the fame. Love for fame is human nature, which is to say the pursuit for fame is a necessity. Rather than letting fame go so that I may have more leisure, I would take pains to run after it.
没有谁对名誉的爱慕不是出于人的本性。那些呼吁淡泊名誉的人只不过是站着说话不腰疼。人人都觊觎名誉，然而很少有人知道，与其是一个人独自怀有的财富，名誉的本质其实是一个社会所评价出的资格。因此名誉不能成就于一种超然的态度，在这种态度下一个人被排除在由所有评判者和观众构成的社会之外。即使万一这个人实现了作为一个副产品的名誉，一当他开始享受这名誉，他的超然便会失去。对名誉的爱慕是人的本性，其意指对名誉的追求是一个必须的事情。与其放开名誉从而我能有更多的闲适，我更愿意费尽苦心去追求名誉。

- Most people don't understand the price of having fame. One a person is famous and well recognized, he loses his freedom and privacy. You can not longer go to eat at a street side shop or go nearby to buy some snacks in your home clothes. Everywhere you go, you would be observed and followed. Once you make a small mistake, it would be blown out of proportions. What is the use of such fame? Fame is one of the things which people don't have and want it, but those who have it regrets it.
Personally, I would be terrified and depressed if everybody recognize me on the streets. Even at present when I walk around in the outer cities of China, people stare at me (a foreigner) as if I am some strange outer space invader. A guy even asked me if my hair is dyed of natural color.
