The End of Writing 写作的目的

For what an end is there anything worthy to be written? For the kind of human spirit, if it is, which travels hard as far to the others' world as possible, he who writes will be expected to cherish some wishes in his heart. He who writes, and the others, will be expected to perceive mutually, thuswise his language can go abroad, and finally is realised the value of his wishes. If it is for the inner pursuit of the soul, which explores deep within the writer as an individual self, he the writer will be well advised to take good care of the independence and calmness in his reign of mind, and stay undisturbed by agitation of the outside world. Thuswise, he will rarely but surely have understanding readers of his own. In a word, I wish I am both of the two kinds, for so and so only can I become a perfect writer.
写作的目的是什么？如果它是一种对外的精神，那么写作之人的心就一定要有牵挂，一定要让自己和这个世界通透起来，让自己的文字能够走到世界中去，实现它牵挂的价值。如果它是一种对内的灵魂，那么写作人就应该把自己呵护起来，保持在一个独立安静的空间，不让自己被外在的世界动摇打扰，而他唯独能有的读者亦是高山流水。当然，对内与对外，我希望自己两者都是，因为只有如此才是一个完美的作家。
