Little Interests
When I was little I took pleasure in quite a few interests. I drew pictures very well, much better than those who could only doodle. While free at home I was always drawing pictures of planes versus tanks, and the planes were so delicately designed with stylish wings and all-round weapons, only to beat the tanks which were as if foolish. Besides drawing I also liked playing with small figures. I had many of them, which were bought so early that I didn't even know when, so the game of arraying figures in a favorable formation had a long history, and sometimes I seriously had the feeling that they had cultivated my temperament. Similarly I loved building blocks, and there were always hours for merely one castle. All in all, from drawing to playing with figures and blocks, I wondered how I have lost today the patience which a certain interest once embodied.

在我很小的时候我在一些爱好里得到了很多乐趣。我画画画得很好，比那些只会涂鸦的人要强得多。空闲在家的时候我总是会画飞机大战坦克的图画，而那些飞机是如此的设计精良，有时髦的翅膀和齐全的武器，只为了打败那些好像很蠢的坦克。除了画画我还喜欢玩小人偶。我有很多人偶，都是很早以前买的以至于我不知道是什么时候；所以把人偶排列成我最喜欢的阵型的游戏有着悠久的历史，而我有时候我很认真地感到它们陶冶了我的性情。类似地我还喜欢搭积木，而仅仅为了一座城堡我会花上好几个小时。总而言之，从画画到人偶到积木，我不知道自己是怎样失去了曾经在一样兴趣里所能体现的耐性。
