Sleeping with Grandpa
Since my tender years I have been most intimate with my grandpa, despite the common sense that the child is always closest to mother. I am not sure before I dared to sleep alone, whether or not my grandpa had accompanied me in bed more than my parents; but I consider my grandpa as my only bedtime story teller, whose stories were so weird and far from being childlike that I hardly caught the plot, while so incredibly catchy that I had listened to them in rapt attention. While sleeping with my grandpa, however, the only thing terrible was that he snored like thunder, and to stop him every time I had to pinch his nose. I once wondered why his snores had never woken himself up.

和爷爷睡
在我很小的时候我就和爷爷有很亲密的感情，不管常识里如何说一个孩子总是和妈妈最亲近。我不确定在我敢一个人睡觉前，我的爷爷是不是比我的父母陪我睡觉的时候更多；但我把我爷爷当做我最好的讲睡前故事的人，他的故事是如此怪异而远没有儿童气以至于我很难抓住情节，而又如此难以置信的吸引人以至于我从来都是全神贯注地听。不过，在和爷爷睡觉的时候，有一件事很糟糕，那就是他打鼾像打雷，而为了止住他我不得不捏他的鼻子。我一度感到疑惑为什么他的鼾声从来不会把他自己吵醒。
