July 22 is memorable because I got my driving license on that day, but what is more unforgettable is an experience when I learnt driving.

I am a beginner. I have not mastered the differences between the clutch and braking, and even the steering wheel is beyond my control. Yet, I have to make a try. So I copied what other learners did. I drove up, I ignored all sounds outside the motor, and I indulged in the feelings of my feet and hands. The wall is nearer and nearer, but I was still driving on. It seems that someone is calling me, but I cannot hear clearly. My mind is a blank. At this very moment, a friend sitting in the back seat puts his leg out to slam the brake fitting at the front of the passenger seat. The car stopped at once. Suddenly, I realized what happened. Others surrounded me. The trainer should have yelled at me, and the others should have blamed me, while they comfort me, and let me relax.

Actually, I am not feeling fear at all at that moment. After calming down, I am so grateful for their thoughtfulness. I am also very thankful for my friends’ leg— the meaningful stamping on the brake, which is more excited than any shots. The friend is a hero in my mind. Thanks a million! But my gratitude is beyond words.
