original english novels

I went to the library yesterday and hoped that I could borrow some original english novels. unfortunately, there are some original english novels in the library, but these booked can only be read in the reading room and aren't available for taking home. What a pity!
Of course, there are a lot of resources online, but reading electronic english books are not good for my eyes, when you read a little while, you will feel that your eyes would not tolerate anymore, it would be an hurdle to learning english. paper books could resolve this problem, but usually paper books are always very expensive in the store.
Do you have any suggetion on this problem?

- Maybe you can download the novel from the Internet and print it out. By the way, going to the provincial library to borrow books is another good way.

- Maybe as A-C said, download and print it out. Most time , when I read novel, I just read it in the library. And seldom do I read now.

- Hong Kong's public libraries are full of english novels yet sadly due to the declining english reading ability of the whole society, not too many of them have ever been borrowed by people , it is somehow a waste of social resources.
In fact, in order to enhance our english ability,an intensive reading of varied english materials, not only novels, is needed.

- Oh, nice to know that you are from Hong Kong too. Yes, there are plenty of reading material at our well stocked public libraries but the libraries seems underused. I like the library at the HK University but need arrangement to use the library. Hong Kong's English fluency is dropping year by year and that is not good for HK. We have to rely on foreign investments so the English level must be reasonable.

- i guess you can find some recommended novel and search and buy it on Taobao, i know it`s privacy but it saves a lot of money. One book per time cau the booking reading will last a long time. No need to waste you money beforehand.
