We had a continuous day-off in the past three days, a combination of the weekends and the traditional Qingming festival. My wife and me dicided to make a trip to Tianjin to relax. This opptunity is rare for us as we are often busy studying or working. However there are no perfic things in the world, so it is with this trip.
I would like to talk about the pleasant part of it at first. This is our first view of Tianjin, though we live in a place only half-an-hour away by train. It impressed us deeply with its well-protected old districts, including numerous European style buildings. Many of these buildings remain the structures when they were first established, but refurbished outside and used as different fuctions. Although these buildings were constructed by foreign invaders and may symbolize the wounds our nation used to suffer, they have become a special scenery of this city, attracting people all over the country to come and have a look. Walking in these districts, it's like wandering in a European city, Rome or London. It's worth complimenting that the foreign style districts are well jointed with the newly built mordern parts of the city. Penetrating from the new to the old, you'll never feel disruption or mismatch. People live here must be proud of this city.
Now I have to come to the unhappy part of this journey: there were too many people. It seems all people were going into the streets. There were people lining in front of restaurants, sitting on every bench, crowding every shops; and, as many people travelled from one city to another at the same time, it became difficult to get a train ticket for a favorite time. These stressed us somewhat, at some point nearly ruined our vocation.
Anyway, this is a worthful trip for us. Back at home now, we gain more power to face the following work days.
