The Chinese new year is almost gone.  The foods materials in the local market during the Chinese new year is stable, not much higher than daily time. I see the shrimp is about 45yuan/500 grams, this is almost the same with the normal days. For kind of the fish which asked 50-60yuan/500gram, the price for this year is rather low about 28yuan/500grams. It is heard that it is many many so that the price is down a lot this year.

 

Because we have a traditional of worshiping "laoye" god, so almost every family need to use citrus to worshi the Laoye. The price is expensive, about 6-8yuans per 500grams, Before, the material is limited, so people eat a lot citrus during the festivals, but now people are not lacked of the fruits, there is a lot of citrus during the festivals and the weather is usually cold so that most of the citrus is wasting after the festivals.

 

Long eyars ago, We will stock a lot of food materials in the refrigerator for Chinese new year. Nowadays even there is still shops open at the first day of the new year, price is not differenciate much. Even family still keep some foods for Chinese new year , it can not keep as much as before now.

 

I am used to complain about the lack of the phenomenon for the new year. But, people still running back to home during this days for family reunion no matter how far away from home. It means we still care about the concept of the family. As the society is developed a lot, we just can not have the clowded feeling like before. For me, the great affected my feeling for Chinese new year was back to the long time before. When firework was forbidden to play in the city. The "年味" had been less a lot.

 

Otherwise the family has changed a lot since my grandmother past. Before, the most eagering to do during the first day of Chinese new year was to visiting of my grandmother.

 

For people who work outside. Home is not as clear as before. Home is always in far distance.
