This is an English book which I had it on a Controller’s meeting in Germany in the year 2010, the one to be the gift to every presenter, I Like it very much, due to it is not only for the management book and also it is the one to tell you how to management your efficient time and how to be a good qualify person. Now I pick up one section to share with you here.

Time management as speed management

Many people want what they want now or, yesterday. To them, speed matters above all else and is seen as the deciding competitive factor.

In many companies, ASAP is the only timeframe that counts when it comes to making appointments and meeting deadlines. Anyone without an e-mail address is hopelessly out of date, and electronic replies are expected within 24 hours at the latest. Traditional postal deliveries have been downgraded to “snail mail,” and mobile phones or Blackberry guarantee that everyone is available everywhere, and in real time.”

More and more people, however, are now suffering from the negative consequences of living in such a high-speed world, they have the feeling that they must spend their entire life in the fast lane. It’s no longer a matter of the big dominating the small, but of the fast overtaking the slow.

Such pressures are only intensified by speed management, since it is primarily concerned with achieving more output in ever-shorter amount of time.

Speed management is a valuable strategic factor when it comes to remaining competitive. When a company has its speed management techniques down pat, it can adjust its structures and business processes to current conditions and thus react more quickly and flexibly to changes in the market.

It’s not always possible, however, to reach the desired goal more quickly through speed alone.
