I am not major in English, I am major in French, I can say nobody believes what I said, and that’s truth. When I was in the training school, English classes were full, only a few of students who have passed the exam, and we had to put the minority languages including French or Spanish. I was the one in French class for two years.

Like any other English learner, I faced a lot of difficulties in learning English at the beginning. English and French are all the western languages; so many words are the same spelling, but the different pronunciation, Firstly, I found it difficult to understand what I read because most English words have more than one meaning, Besides, I found it difficult to write idiomatic English or to translate Chinese into idiomatic English. Luckily I worked in the foreign company; I had many chances to speak with native speakers, my oral English was not too bad, but reading and writing I needed to improve a lot.

But I did not lose heart in overcoming these obstacles, That’s why I keep writing blogs for 8 years, and this year I follow Tiger to be the student to learn YLYK which is an English periodical platform, for practicing intensive reading and listening. So every morning I would like reading the article with Tiger together on YLYK to PK who can have the high score for reading.

I tackled English vocabulary in two ways. First, I tried to understand and memorize the specific meaning of a word in its context. Second, I enlarged my vocabulary by breaking words up into roots and affixes.

In fact, I am lazy to read the original books or novels, sometime just watching and listening TV in English program. If you want to remember one new word, I might have to read it in seven times. These experience have out to be effective, my reading and listening is much better than before. I was confident to record a video in Tik Tok for reading English and to get many likes.
