It’s time for a digital detox

Hot 1699 views. 2022-2-8 11:09

One of friends said he is afraid to have his cell phone especially in the midnight; there is much gloomy news about the corona virus surge, doom scrolling through TV or other media app, watching home improvement videos and playing games. Some people is playing cell phone 5-6 hours a day, it is too much, isn’t it?

Social media sites create goals to keep users engaged. Those include the number of likes and followers we accrue on Tik Tok and automatically plays the next recommended video.

With the holiday season upon us, now is a good time to take a breather and consider a digital detox, let us come up with a plan: Step one is assessing which parts of screen time feel toxic and make you unhappy, Step two is creating a realistic plan to minimize consumption of the bad stuff.

Create No phone zones, no phone in the bed room overnight, have a charging station outside the bedroom. I believe no one is scrolling up and down phone before go to sleep, sometime holding the phone for long time their hands are feeling painful. We can create other no phone zones, the dinner table is a good opportunity for families to agree to put phones away for at least 30 minutes and reconnect.

For starters, we can resist the hoods by making our phones less intrusive. Turn off notifications for all apps except those that are essential for work and keeping in touch with people you care about, if you feel strongly addicted, take an extreme measure and turn the phone to grayscale mode, or you could block off 8am to read the new for 10 minutes, and 20 minutes from 1am. Don’t think of it as taking a break as that may do the opposite of relaxing you.

Now it ‘s time for a digital detox, for our healthy we need it.

The convenience of smart phones is obvious that we benefit a lot. As a coin has its two sides, we are easily lost in the cyberworld, particularly in the face of temptation and addiction from the internet, while we are almost occupied by the portable phones at any time, we constantly check messages fearing missing anything. I am with your observation and I'd like to put my phone away and focus on something else, reading, exercising, working and living would be an alternative choice that keeps me from obsession with my phone.
