 My Passion with English

I have stop learning English for almost 10 years, until I did 30 powerful questions: to find your passion, I was asked: “ When in your life have you felt the most alive? What makes you happiest?”

Well, the most happiest moment was when I started self-learning English from A,B,C, failed, failed and passed English course eventually. And then I set up a big goal: studying overseas, I have practiced speaking English with classmates under the trees in the uni until my throat was soooo sore, I couldn’t speak out on the oral exam day…I have listened English tape record in the library over and over until I was the last one left…meanwhile, I have sitten 8 hours a day at the desk in order to pass the reading testTo start with, I have also almost spent 8 hours a day in memorizing English Vocabularies.

When I recall those wonderful memories, I found my life was sooo alive an fulfilled…;D

But since I have realized my dream: studied aboard, got a degree, got PR and doing a job in an Aussie-run company, I can’t find where is my passion….? I have lost myself. .no goal no dream…  :(

For the NewYear resolution 2016: I joined a course: design a life you love in 6 days… gradually, I told myself: yes, yes, you should keep learning…well, English learning is a progress, it is not a destination…it keeps me busier and happier, why not?

I love one quote from Tal Ben-Shahar: attaining lasting happiness requires that we enjoy the journey on our way toward a destination we deem valuable. Happiness is not about making it to the peak of the mountain nor is it about climbing aimlessly around the mountain, happiness is the experience of climbing toward the peak.

Wow... you are quite an ardent fan of the English language. That is great because you now have a valuable asset which is good English. It is evident that you have invested a lot of efforts in learning. According to what you have written here, your English level is quite good and more than sufficient for most purposes.

You have even managed to study abroad which should have widened your vision and understanding of other countries. With your knowledge of English, there are plenty of opportunities available to you and should give you much confidence.

Even though I am a British national, I have to agree that learning English is never easy. You have done well and hope you would continue to upgrade yourself towards perfection.

As for finding your passion, you have already made good achievements, have a reasonably satisfactory job and a bright future. Life can't be forever happy or fulfilled and there are always ups and downs. We all have different ambitions and expectations at different stages of our life. Be grateful that you had the advantage to experience much more than others. Every day is a new and hopeful day and someday, your dreams would come true.

You are new here so, on behalf of all friends here, I extend to you my warmest welcome. Hope you can use your ability to make this a more interesting place for everyone to share. You can share your thoughts, emotion, experience, advice, daily experience or anything happening around you.

You have already done very well. Now you want to go for further study which ignites your inner desire for English studying.

To be honest, there is no easy thing that we can attain in a short time. Only can we do is to study hard, which is also the way I have done before. After years of struggling, now I find have done something. This makes me feel that you can also be better and better as long as you start to pursue again.

Going abroad for the further study is a good chance that you will expand your horizon and enrich your personal experience.

Wish you good luck.
