immigration is an escape dream rather than a real dream

Hot 3733 views. 2016-10-5 06:10 | dreams, escape, dreams

Escape Dreams

Escape dreams are not real passions, just momentary flights of the imagination.

It’s an interesting to note that escape dreams, like flying jet fighters, are very easy to think about and very risky to actually do, while real dreams usually involve no real risk at all.

Real Dreams

Real Dreams don't require you to abandon your family, quit your job, and move to Tahiti with your paint brush.

They just require that you search your soul for that deep dream you put aside and go for it.

Whenever you do what you really love, your heart lifts, your mind opens, and everything changes. You wake up. That's what true adventure really is.

View from one Chinese lady

A Chinese lady told me: “I am very interested in immigrating to Australia, In China, everyone is doing what they don’t like."

"In my hospital, very few people are enjoying being doctors, it’s simply not a position; it is more about how to deal with a complicated relationship between colleagues and managers.”

“But the most important thing, it is for a better education and living environment for my kid.”

Different views from two Aussies

However, An Aussie guy told me: “Australia has been changed so much, it’s nothing like it used to be, I am ashamed of being Australian, we don’t have culture, I want to go to a nice country like Amsterdam.”

I remembered one Aussie lady said: “All Chinese kids are so smart, they go to the best Uni in Australia, the basic education system in China is much better than in Australia. I don’t know what are my kids learning in the school? The teachers are just hopeless.”

What’s wrong with everyone?

It seems to me nobody is enjoying the real world, you are all having an escape dream for a fantasy world.

Each year, there are so many business and skilled immigrants moving to Australia by quitting their prestige jobs or shutting down businesses in China with the high expectation of an imagined wonderland in Australia.

Real Life in Australia

When they are facing the reality in Australia, it is exactly like products from the supermarket.

Business immigrants are running very small shops by losing money and have to shut down after a few years once obtain PR in Australia, while the majority skilled immigrants, women are doing accounting or nurse (well, I am also one of them), men are doing IT or Finance etc.

If you truly love doing the above things, that would be different, in fact, not many people are doing what they love from the inner heart.

Even some people asked one of my Chinese friends: “What’s the point you work and study so hard, we come to Australia enjoying life.”

Is this the way they are living a better life: they don’t know how to communicate in English and don’t bother to learn.

Every day they visit my friend’ mobile shop trying to kill time by chatting with the staff and never stopped complaining how bored they are in Australia as that's totally different from what they imagined- a perfect world.

No, that is not life, there's no life at all; I can’t see there are hope and future.

It is even worse than live in China.

Find a real dream

The only thing you can change your fate is to change your attitude and find a real dream which is unique only belongs to you.

It doesn’t matter where you live, China or Australia, it relates to whether you have found something you truly love and have the courage to do it.

It is like in your 40s, you would like to be a Uni student, or learn a musical instrument or join a cooking course or something touches your heart, then go for it.

If you have no idea what you really love to do, please ask yourself, what do you admire other people most?

If you admire someone speaks fluent English; then you can learn from ABC, or if you admire your friend’s perfect body shape, then go for swimming, sports, reading or running etc.

Having a fulfilling and exciting life

Once you join activities, you will go outside meet mind-like people; you will have a feeling of excitement and fulfilling.

One day, you will really appreciate for moving into a new country as you are making nice friends and learning different cultural things.

You will find the world fascinating as you are meeting amazing people and experiencing an exciting new life.

Please don’t get a wrong impression that moving to a new country will lead you into a fulfilling life by doing nothing you love or expecting someone else can change your life.

Many people immigrate foreign country that is just for the nationality. Then they can get more chances or opportunities when they get back to China. I saw many people when they finished their immigration prison, they would went back to China to find a job, because it is difficult to strart a new life outside, especially living in different culture.
In my opinion, it is the right for any person to immigrate or not, if they can afford the coming life. And I think it will help the national fusion. Which can help the world to become more prosperous.

You are right, immigration does bring benefits.

There are still a lot of people who enjoys living overseas including myself.

My article is about those immigrants who lost themselves because they don’t know what they really want to do from their inner heart.

So no matter where you stay, it won’t change your fate automatically.

Only if you discover your talents, doing the things you truly love, then it matters,

Anyway, thanks for your comments.

by the way, immigration is not a prison at all, only those people who enjoy the life most in a different country, then they find it's amazing in a new country, there are so many interesting things happening with very nice people around.

I totally agree your views. I think people can find their happiness regardless whether they live in Australia or China.

Nowadays, the Aussies who are born in or if their parents migrated to Australia a long time age fear the impacts of their living conditions, like property prices rising rapidly and worrying about job securities. They blame that the immigration intake numbers are way too large and the Government has not done enough to control foreign investments. In contrast, those potential immigrants only focus on what the benefits they are eager for. They seemed to overlook some of the huge impacts that making their daily lives miserable. All of these made the new migrants felt unhappy.

I reckon, as a migrant, you need to adapt to a new environments by respecting the main-stream cultures. Opening your mind to accept something might upset you in some ways because your cultures and beliefs are different to them. You need to treat people nicely, stay calm and stand up for yourself if you are right.

If your thinking is positive then you reaction will be positive. In this way, you make more friends and build up your social network. You slowly become a member of the new society and never feel you are alone. I bet you will love here as much as the place of your hometown.

Life is good, it really depend on you, not a place.

you are absolutely right.

if someone moves to a  country, not try to make friends with people from different cultures,

if one only focuses on investment , making endless of money, then there's no point to move a new country.

one can either live in the heaven or hell, it totally depends on the person's mind, how you see the world, being positive or negative.
