You wanna marry a rich Chinese or a blonde man
Some Chinese young girls who have never been aboard, they might have romantic thinking about a cute western man. One day, if a girl meets a nice blonde boy getting married, what a wonderful thing that would be!!!!
In my apartment, there’s a man, Tim, who I do gym with, he was the first generation Aussie (his family was from Europe) who has taken the adventure in China since the 1990s.
Tim was famous at the time China open door policy just started, his photo was on the first page of a popular newspaper, even once he was regarded as a hero for rescuing a Chinese on the street.
Tim told me the most advantage in China was that he could easily find lots of pretty girls.
In fact, he had stories with some Chinese girls, but now he’s not interested in anyone who has the purpose of practising English or considering him as a rich man.
Tim had a bad experience with a beautiful Chinese girl. After they met at a business conference; they fell in love and got married. Tim considered her as a good match as they had the same interests in doing business.
They can support each other when it needs. However, life is not as what they imagined; they have the different value and expectations.
The Chinese girl bought a house before marriage, from Chinese traditional way, it’s normal to ask husband pay for the property. Tim said he had never seen ownership papers, what’s the matter with him.
Though he still tried best to help her, the wife wasn’t satisfied with him as he’s not as rich as what was on her mind, they started getting argument and fighting, the relationship ended very soon.
To marry a western man, a girl has to be very independent; the majority Aussies is just average rather than rich type.
For a generous man, he might pay for a girl dining out or a movie, but she still needs to pay her own bills, from rent to shopping expenses, electricity, water and food.
Western people consider it as equal if a girl and a boy be responsible for themselves.
In this way, a girl knows, the only one she can rely on is herself rather than a man.
She works hard and earns money to support her and one day, if a western man leaves her, she says: “Ok, thanks, bye.”
If there’s no love, why stay together, it is better to find someone who makes her laugh with lots of fun.
Just keep smiling, a girl is not afraid of losing a man as she doesn't need financial support and she has the better opportunity to choose whoever she likes, that could be a young handsome man rather than a rich control freak.
Paul, a friend of my husband, a wealthy man who complained about his daughter-in-law, “Can you believe Hannah, she doesn’t know how to do housework at all, all my son and wife do in Australia.”
Hannah, a single child who is spoilt, In China, it is not unusual, she doesn't wash dishes, clothes or clean up the apartment, her parents did everything before she’s getting married.
If it is in China, that’s all right, they can find a cleaner. In Australia, the labour cost is high.
Hannah found it in a complete mess after she’s having a child and it is not easy for her to handle the family.
Luckily, she has a kind husband and her parents, parents-in-law, in turn, come to Australia to look after the baby.
In Shanghai, Hannah had a good position as a designer in a reputable real estate agent.
She’s happy about the job and was quite unwilling came to Australia, for the marriage, she quit the job and followed her husband to Melbourne.
In Shanghai, everyone admires her as she marries a handsome husband with a decent family background.
However, Hannah finds it a bit lost, as in Melbourne, she can’t find a job as good as she did in Shanghai because of the limitation of her English and the lack of local work experience, in addition, she has very little friends in Melbourne.
Hannah doesn’t have a concern about the financial thing, her husband has a job in Australia and father-in-law is a famous painter who can support them.
One day, the father told my husband: “You know the couple, they spent my money more than $25,000 to buy a few pieces of furniture which is absolutely not worth it; I don’t understand these young people, how can they use money so carelessly.”
Like most traditional Chinese girl, Hannah is a lucky one, she will be considered as a very good wife in China.
At the moment, Hannah’s taking care of the child while giving a bit support of her husband for doing the designing thing.
I am not gonna make comments for her current life.
What a coincidence!!! In my company, three ladies won the best designer rewards in Australia and Victoria for designing the bathrooms and kitchens.
I can tell they are true happiness from the inner heart the time they went onto the stage to accept the rewards, their dream came true.
I was just wondering if Hannah work in China, probably she has better development opportunity for doing the designing thing in a big company unless she still works and studies hard to realize her potential in Australia.
One thing is sure, no matter whom you marry with, rich or poor, no one can change your destiny, and the only one is yourself.
Therefore, before you admire someone who marries a rich Chinese husband or a handsome western man.
All you need do is improve yourself, one day you will meet a nice man and you are equal.
