Mr.Right(1)-Appearance the first step to get a girl' attention
Mr. Right (恋爱先生), a popular Chinese TV series is on.
Hao Cheng (程皓) keeps a day job as the boss and dentist of a high-end clinic. Meanwhile, he follows passion to be an online love consultant who helps people to find true love.
A client of Hao Cheng, Yan Wang (王岩) is secretly in love with a lovely girl for 2 years 8 months and 14 days.
Yan, the 32-year-old programmer prefer workdays than weekends because that’s the only time he meets the girl one minute every morning in the elevator.
But he doesn’t have courage to say hello to the girl, so he talked with Hao Cheng for advice.
One day, Hao asked Yan in front of a department store: “How long ago did you have your hair cut?”
“One month.”
“You know, a man has destroyed his image without going to hair salon for 2 weeks.”
Your shoes are all right, May I have a look please?” said Hao.
“I just bought it today!!”

“You must be kidding? ”
“Do you know any men who really care about their appearance? it’s like you, they are afraid to make a change.
First, you don’t believe yourself, but it takes time to develop a new habit.
From now on, you can only wear the style I designed for you. Remember, you must wear them in the office, in a party, at home, shopping or at the market.
After one month, I guarantee you won’t miss the shoes which threw in the bin.”
“Are you joking? Should I wear it when I buy veggies and meat in the market, people must think I am crazy!!! ” said Yan.
“That’s the second point. You care too much about someone else.
Look at the waitress, she has noticed you, a man who cares about himself, then he will catch eye from a beautiful girl.” Hao advised Yan.
In our tradition, if a high school student cares about hair style and fashionable clothing will easily be regarded as a bad one because he can’t focus on study, then fail in entering into a reputable Uni.
Gradually, he’s making difference after having an office job, but sometimes it’s not that easy to be the way he truly loves.
Especially, when a boy or a girl lives with parents, there’s resistance of change.
One year, when I was on holiday, my brother had a stylish new haircut, dad immediately advised him: “Look at your hair, it looks weird, please don’t cut it like that next time.”
Dad is powerful. What a pity, since then, I can hardly see brother with latest hair style like a movie star.
Then I asked brother: “How much does it cost you current hair?” “18 yuan (AUD4), sometimes I cut it by myself.”
“Wow, unbelievably cheap, but I do think a designed hair style is important, one can save every penny but not on his hair.” I told him.
There's no doubt that brother can afford to pay 500CNY (AUD100) for a stylish hair cut; actually, he has wasted too much on the stuff never used, but he doesn’t care about hair at all.
In Australia, an Aussie friend asked me: “Why most Chinese middle-aged women look like a man with very short hair?”
“I’ve got no idea; at least it’s not me.”
I don’t cut hair often, but I will pay AUD70 (CNY350) to a Korean hair-dresser who is as handsome and stylish as Hao Cheng in the TV series.
Because I have been with him for almost 12 years, he knows how to cut my hair which makes me look younger.
One year, my hair was getting messy when I was on holiday, I decided to cut it in Shanghai, the one was a slightly cheaper than in Melbourne.
“What hair style do you prefer?”
“It’s up to you, please design one which suits me the most.” I said the same words to the hairdresser in Shanghai as in Melbourne.
After the hair done, I looked at the mirror, was the short hair my friend described, which made me look much older?
Since then, I have never cut hair in Shanghai, it takes time to find a suitable one.
Hair style counts, it will influence your appearance.
A few days ago, when I just entered into my parents’ apartment, dad asked: “Why you didn’t wear socks and interlock pants (棉毛裤), you know, it’s very cold in winter.”
“I did wear a pair of pantyhose（连裤袜） the same color as the skin.”
“Then why your pants look so big and short?”
“That’s wide leg pants.” I answered.
Ok, then how could it be your coat inside longer than your winter coat outside, that’s odd.” Dad doubted.
Every time I visited Dad, he questioned a lot about my dresses. Fortunately, I live in Melbourne.
Now I understand the feeling brother got, that’s the way Chinese parents try to take care of kids, so that he won’t be out of tradition and be a good person at the eyes of someone else.
Sometimes Dad also cares about my shoes: “Why every day you wear the same shoes as last year did?”You can’t afford to buy a new one?”
“No, I have a lot in Melbourne, this pair of shoes were made in Italy, the real leather, which I have been wearing for many years, but it still looks new with good quality.”
“Be careful, don’t be fooled, it couldn’t be that price. You see, I bought 5 pairs of shoes from Taobao, totally cost less than 800CNY (160AUD).” Dad told me.
“Wow, what a good bargain.”
When I looked at the shoes under his bed, I couldn’t make a compliment, and I might throw what Dad loves.
A nice hair style, a good quality bag or a pair of shoes will be perfect match for the clothes and change your image completely which will boost self-confidence.
Think about what kind of person you wanna be, if you admire Hao Cheng, why not set him as a goal.
Work hard, do exercise, change your image, with fashionable clothes on which match your nice body shape.
As long as you have gained self-confidence, it won’t be hard to get a girl’s attention.
