I just look at the others blog, I know my english level. When I see article need to check a lot of word and my writtening has a lot of mistake in grammar.But I want to try practice and study.
My husband work in the United States. So I have some opportunity to go abroad .It is said that in the language environment is the fastest learning english ,but my experience is not true.
Although in the language environment .If you are not go to school. In addition to the daily go to the supermaket or shopping,to dinner.very few people to communicate with you.And in these place need to speak is very simple a few words.
I think If you want to learn english well. You should be listen to more English broadcast and lay the foundation.The finally can go to a local language school.

- Seems you have underestimated your knowledge of English. I can't say your English is very good but you have enough English knowledge to write properly. Your message is clear, easy to understand, well understood and pleasant to read. You have already passed the stage of writing fright.
Yes, there are some minor grammar mistakes but it doesn't matter. So long as we understand well what you are writing, then you are good enough. Don't worry about mistakes because those mistakes would disappear as you read and write more.
Nice to note that you have have been to the United States. I recently returned from San Francisco. i have to go to US once every year because I am a green card holder and cannot be absent from the US for more than 1 year. However, I don't like USA so much and prefer my own country UK.

- Writting in some way seems very easy than speaking. For , when we learn a new language, we tend to keep silence till it is necessary that we have to say something.
As the old saying goes:"Practise makes perfect."As long as you hold every chance to practise speaking, in addition that you are in a perfect language learning environment, I think you will master it sooner or later.

I am Chinese and work in Beijing.Working have a little busy.I just use apart time to self-study.Sometimes read some articles and listen to VOA special english and so on. Unfotunately ,a lot of content do not understand.
I have to go to US twice every year and purpose to see my husband.Coincidentally, I live near the San Francisco. Silicon Valley.I have travelled many place of the United Stater.Washington DC,New york,Boston.Orlando(specially run to Disneyto play for three days),Los Angeles.Living in Chicago for a long time.

Nice to know that you are also located in the San Francisco area. When I am there I stay at downtown SF or at my friends home in Richmond. I don't spend much time in the US and most of the time, I am in my birthplace, Hong Kong. Perhaps can invite you lunch if we happen to be in SF.
