I spent half a month in Russia this summer vacation, took a boat from St.Petersburg to Moscow all the way down the River Volga. I've made acquaintance with several friends from Petersburg and Moscow, from the conversations with them and things I've experienced or met, I realized that there truly exist substantial distinctions between notions of the two people.
Russians live a leisurely, much easier life. Every Friday, they tend to flee out of the city and head for their countryside cottages, starting an exciting camping trip. A saying goes:"the soul of Russia lies in the countryside." They pitch tents along the brooks, catch fish in the water, pick wildflowers and barbecue food they brought from home. Some well-off families even rent or buy private yachts, riding horses in abbeys is one of top5 activities of choice for most people. This leisure time often last till Sunday night, they begin packing things and flood back into the city on Monday. It is an interesting thing that all the enterprises , schools and other institutions host a static Wednesday conference, so Russians call Wednesday as " meeting day", when they finally get over it, they reach Thursday when they gradually relax and reflect on the work they done in the previous days. After that ,they can start a joyful weekend again.
Russian people do savor life, they are grateful to surprises and beauty in life, they volunteer to make great effort just to make life more charming for both themselves and others. They paint their houses in bright colors, flower shops are always crowded with people, backyards are decorated with fruit trees and colorful plants. Even in the market along the street, vegetables growers sculpture cute dolls out the vegetables they sell, they are not selling their products, they are showing the world the enthusiasm towards life, the love of nature, the sense of art and the heart of romance. Elderly women dress neat and tidy, wear delicate make-up, smile like 20-year-olds.
China develops at such a rocketing speed, cities in China are filled with skyscrapers, lines of cars, large population as well as stress, worry, fear and nervousness. The rapid pace of life makes them give up the romance and passion existing at the bottom of their hearts, all kinds of health problem await them, like sub-health problem. When I'm in Beijing, I can hardly see someone shows a smile, most people frowned and sighted. Busy and stressed as it may be, so long as we pick up a little passion , create a few surprises for ourselves and the loved ones, so long as we really know what life truly means.
